Lynn S. Hammonds, OD

EDUCATION:
Dr. Lynn S.Hammonds graduated with honors from the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Upon graduation, Dr. Hammonds continued her training at UAB, completing a residency in geriatric and low vision rehabilitation. This specialty adds a valuable dimension to our practice.

POSITIONS HELD:
Dr. Hammonds has been in practice in Hoover since 1992. She is a consultant at the Children's Hospital of Alabama and has served as a Clinical Associate Professor at the UAB School of Optometry.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Dr. Hammonds is an active member in the Alabama Optometric Association and the local optometry society where she has held various offices. Presently she is on the Advisory Board of Vision America and serves on the Alabama Board of Optometry and the Board of Directors for EyeCare Associates, Inc.


Catherine S. Amos, OD, FAAO

EDUCATION:
Dr. Catherine S. Amos received her B.S. from Indiana University and was the first female graduate of the School of Optometry / The Medical Center, University of Alabama at Birmingham.

POSITIONS HELD:
She began practicing optometry in 1974 and was Birmingham's first female practitioner in 1978. She is a Clinical Associate Professor and the UABSO, specializing in prenatal infectious diseases, and is a consultant at the Children's Hospital of Alabama.

BOARDS and COMMITTEES:
She is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and has served as president of her state association and local optometric society. Presently Dr. Catherine Amos is the past Chairman of the Board of Directors for Vision Service Plan.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Dr. Catherine Amos is a strong supporter of community activities. She has participated in vision screenings at local schools and health fairs. Dr. Amos is also a volunteer for Vestavia Hills schools and serves on the Board of The Amelia Center.
